A very difficult commission

I want to express my sincere gratitude for the amazing work Sherry did on a very difficult commission. I was given a vision from God and, without a “re-creation” of something already existing, Sherry was able to bring that vision to life! Her patience with me, and help in the process, was beyond excellence. She is so gifted, and I am so blessed to have been led by The Lord to have her do this project. I am so grateful! 🙏🏼

The artwork she made was beautiful and looks exactly like my cat

I ordered a large pastel portrait from Sherry. My cat passed away & I wanted a picture of him. Sherry is very nice, relatable and communicated well. It was an easy process. I sent some pictures of my cat, Whytie, and we communicated through email & text throughout the whole process. The artwork she made was beautiful and looks exactly like my cat. Her work is amazing, and I will cherish this artwork forever.

The colors and the depth are stunning. The coral looks so real and fish could actually be in an aquarium.

As soon as I saw this painting on Nextdoor I knew I had to see it.
I saw it and purchased the Turtle painting, “Here’s Looking at You” today. The colors and the depth are stunning. The coral looks so real and fish could actually be in an aquarium. It is a gift for our daughter-in-law who just loves turtles. We can’t wait to see her face at the holidays. Sherry’s talent is unmistakable!!!

I am not an art connoisseur or regular patron

I am not an art connoisseur or regular patron and only have a few original paintings adorning my walls but 3 of them are by Sherry’s wonderful and creative hand and I’m proud to have them, and know Sherry as a dear and true friend.

The 3 works are so diverse that one would never know they’re by the same artist: One is of an multicolored and never seen, unique fish surrounded by dolphins in the sea with beautiful florals with vibrant colors on the bottom of the sea; another is an abstract acrylic where I see something different and imaginative each time I look; and the last, which I cherish is 20X24 inch profile of a boy looking out at a silver and light blue tinged lake, and pine trees perched on dark-colored hills with a full moon and lovely clouds in a rich purple sky!

What awesome creativity!👍🏼

I am fortunate to have met Sherry through the magic of her artistic creations

I am fortunate to have met Sherry through the magic of her artistic creations. As an ardent admirer of her portraits, I started to follow the postings of the paintings on her website.

Because I was so impressed with her talent and the quality of her work, I asked if I could commission her to paint a portrait of our four year old great-granddaughter.

She created a masterful portrait of our little princess — complete with twinkling eyes and mischievous smile. The background is the ocean on a bright summer day. She captured the complementary of shades of a pale blue sky with powder puff clouds, and deeper blue of a gentle sea with a shimmering ripple of foam tipped waves. It is a colorful rendering done in acrylic on canvas. Our family will treasure this masterpiece forever.

She is a woman with multiple talents in different fields at the same time

I have seen few people who are naturally talented in a field or two. But for Sherry Stuurman, it’s not just one or two. She is a woman with multiple talents in different fields at the same time. She is a belly dancer, a poet, a story writer, a businesswoman, an artist with expertise in many fields including watercolor, pastel, and acrylic.

Her watercolor paintings have their own language of expression. She can capture the essence of a scene in a poetic way.

Her pastel works are life-like. She can capture the mood of any subject with ease. No matter, it’s a portrait of a human being or an animal, scenery or a still-life. The result is always a masterpiece.

But her acrylic pouring works are of another level. She knows very well how to control the flow of the acrylic medium according to her needs. As a poet plays with letters, she plays with colors. And the result is always mind-blowing. I love the way she mixes pouring with a realistic subject with precession.

Recently she created some excellent pieces of realistic artworks using acrylic. I am surprised to see how she is controlling this medium. I salute her confidence and dedication to learning new things and mastering them. I strongly believe that she will excel in this category too.

Whatever she paints, she paints with love, passion, and dedication, and it shows in each of her creations. I wish her great success in this colorful journey of art.
